TU Delft alumni event
Here are four genuinely inspiring presentations that got me thinking about communities, energy, and how we actually make change happen. Delft University of Technology Alumni event 9th of December 2025. Here's what stuck with me:
Amineh Ghorbani's presentation on connectedness:
+ Scaling works in three ways: "deep" (personal change), "out" (spreading to others), and "up" (institutional change).
+ Connectedness improves our wellbeing and makes us resilient to challenges.
Fátima Delgado Medina's presentation on circular communities:
+ Values are at the heart of everything. Circular economy and community building work when aligned with what people care about.
+ Self-sufficiency means navigating relationships between market forces, state structures, and communities.
BinBin Jiang Pearce's presentation on energy citizenship:
+ Community-level energy creates connection when it's produced, consumed, and shared locally.
+ Understanding "what makes a community?" is key to energy citizenship.
+ There's something beautiful between belonging and sharing in community energy projects.
Udo Pesch's presentation on socio-technical change:
+ Lock-ins are barriers but we can't just wish away existing systems.
+ Progress isn't always about opposition, constitutive or representative approaches can be more effective.
+ Understanding HOW to create change is as important as knowing WHAT change we want.
Pretty amazing how these four perspectives wove together around themes of community, systemic change, and the real human elements of transformation!
